Small erbium porcelain earrings with gold filled wire

Short dangle earrings made by hand with delicate porcelain and glazed with erbium glaze. Elegant and timeless. The wire will move around and create an interesting sparkle. Erbium is a rare earth metal. Its oxide is rarely used in ceramics because it is very expensive. However, it produces the most stunning pink: it's actually the only oxide which alone can produce pink. Erbium is among the heavy elements that arrived to Earth after escaping the collision between two neutron stars. We are all  made of stars and your earrings too. 

The wire on which the piece is suspended is made of hand cut and hand-formed 14k gold filled wire metal. The chain is also made from 14k gold filled metal.

The earring measures ca 5 cm in length including the attachment. The porcelain piece measures around 0,5cm in width.

Porcelain is a very strong material but you should treat your pieces with care and make sure not to drop them or have them hit a hard surface. I also recommend not to shower with your jewellery.
