Learn how to make a beautiful rounded textured mug with hand-building techniques.

In this online class that you can take at your own pace, you will learn a lot of useful basic and intermediate techniques to create the texture and construct Elisabetta's Rosmarinium mug.

This class is for all levels: complete beginners will be able to learn how to build a mug from scratch and more seasoned potters will be able to learn intermediate techniques such as how to alter a slab-built shape and how to add an all-encompassing 3D texture to the mug. Elisabetta will also show you tricks to prevent warping. There is something for everyone.  

Besides the building techniques, this class will also cover important topics which all who work in ceramics need to master: how to choose the right clay (types of clay, grog, etc), how to make sure your clay and glaze are compatible with the firing temperature (preventing damages and big mistakes), how to evaluate the moisture level of your clay before building or carving. 

The class is mostly comprised of demonstration videos. There is a video-narrated slide-deck presentation about clay and temperatures. Bonus content includes: behind the scene videos of the making of the collection, a list of ceramic books and how to test for clay vitrification. You will be able to ask questions after each lesson.

2. This is an online class. You will need a reliable internet connection to watch the videos. 
3. The class does not cover glazing or glazes
4. For this class, we assume you have access to a kiln. Elisabetta will explain how firing works and how to make sure you are using the right clay. You can also just take the class to learn the building technique, but whatever you make will not be functional if you do not fire it.
